How will I learn?
I will be expected to participate in classroom activities and discussions and to complete assigned class work, homework and projects.  It will be necessary for me to purchase a Workbook ($25), and have a scientific calculator and other necessary mathematical equipments. A graphic calculator ($80) is recommended for all students who are planning to take Calculus and/or Statistics and Modelling next year.

What should I already have done? (Pre-requisites)
At least 14 credits from
NCEA Level 1 Mathematics

Where does this lead?
NCEA Level 3 Mathematics in either Statistics or Calculus

How is this course assessed?
This is an achievement standard course with internal and external assessment requirements.
Some unit standards may available for selected topics.

The following Achievement Standards will be offered:
2.1 Apply coordinate geometry methods in solving problems (M 7-1) 2 credits Internal
2.2 Apply graphical methods in solving problems (M 7-2,7-7) 4 credits Internal
2.3 Apply sequences and series in solving problems (M 7-3) 2 credits Internal
