What skills will I learn?

As well as those skills taught at level 1:

Patterns, Location, Distance. A more in-depth look at topics utilizing geographic issues and geographic ideas.

How will I learn?

Seminars, Field Trips, individual research and questionnaires, classroom work.

What should I already have done? (Pre-requisites)

Most important is a desire to learn about our environment. This is essentially a three year course but NCEA Level 1 is not absolutely necessary. Entry into level 2 by consultation with the HOD if you do not have Level 1.

Where does this lead?

NCEA Level 3 Geography and Scholarship. Cartography (mapmaking),  planning, geology, engineering, tourism, architecture, landscape architecture, valuing, surveying, law, human resources, management, education, advertising, all media, law.

Geography is an introduction to our world.

How is this course assessed?

By achievement standards.
