A selection of issues based on student interest

What skills will I learn?
Information gathering, problem solving, values interpretation, analysis, interviewing, presenting, processing, questioning 

How will I learn?
Information gathering, processing,  presentations using research, discussion, analysis, games, mixed media, role-play, group work, case studies.

What should I already have done? (Pre-requisites)
Competency in English an inquiring mind, read widely, interested in current events. 

Where does this lead?
NCEA Social STUDIES Level 2 and tertiary studies. Careers in advertising, all media, law, business/economics, publishing, education, health, journalism, human sciences, computer game development, planning, tourism, health, law, politics, human resources, management. (To enter medical school and engineering, you are required to have one of the Humanities, History, Art History, Classical Studies, Geography or Social Sciences) an understanding of literature and the world.

How is this course assessed?
By achievement standards. Internally (Int) and Externally (Ext).
