Graphing, Surveying, Report Writing, Valuing, Mapping, Measuring, Report Writing, Logical Thinking.

How will I learn?

Field Trips, group and individual activities, classroom work.

What should I already have done? (Pre-requisites)

Achieved competency in English, as this subject needs reasonable skill in  writing and comprehension. Numeracy competence is also necessary as being able to calculate simple percentages and other simple maths will be an advantage. Students who are not sure of the pre-requisites should see the HOD before committing to this subject.

Where does this lead?

NCEA Geography level 2 and beyond. Many careers value Geography’s unique combination of skills. This course is an introduction to the geographical professions. Year 11 Geography is the introduction to a lifelong career or interest in the human habitat we call the world. 

How is this course assessed?

By achievement standards, Internally (Int) and Externally (Ext)
